Professionalizing Youth Work: Highlights from our VET Training in Amsterdam
We are thrilled to share the successful completion of our intensive VET Training held in Amsterdam. This core activity brought together 11 dedicated youth workers and educators, representing our target group of professionals committed to bridging the gap between climate science and digital media literacy.
Throughout the training, participants engaged in a series of deep-dive workshops based on the GreenComm EQF Level 5 curriculum. The training focused on practical applications of forensic media analysis, allowing our practitioners to test the “Green Newsroom” concept in a live environment. By analyzing real-world climate datasets and deconstructing instances of greenwashing, the group moved beyond theory into the realm of professional climate advocacy.
Key highlights included:
-
- Action Laboratory Sessions: Participants utilized our Practitioner’s Toolkit to audit environmental communications.
-
- Scientific Traceability: A focused track on using IPCC reports to verify climate claims in digital media.
-
- Certification: All 11 participants successfully completed the validation checks, marking a significant milestone in our mission to professionalize the European youth sector.
These photos capture the collaborative spirit and the rigorous technical work that defines the GreenComm methodology.
